$5, Five Dollars, 5 (what was formerly) Greeenbacks!!
$5 to the person that can positively identify WTF is in this picture!! I am refering to that brown/black thingy about 1/3 up from the bottom edge of the photo and just to the right of center. There is a higher resolution photo HERE.

The thingy in the pic is a 'mud dauber' bee type critter. Notice the rather large abdomen and the hanging rear legs. So says Nostaw anyway...
Judging by the depth of field, it is something much closer to the lens than the background items. Most likely of order Hymenoptera, but a little hard to tell if it is a sawfly or wasp.
My first guess would be a variety of potter wasp. My second guess would be a variety of paper wasp.
I agree with the first two posters. The easiest mistake to make is to assume that the blur is associated with motion and not distance. If the thing was ten feet away it would be a mystery.
Me thinks Jessica's second guess may be more correct... a paper wasp with the long hanging legs in flight. My mud dauber guess may be incorrect as they have a longish waist. Definitely a wasp.. Nostaw
